Christians are called the light of the world. If this is true, the world should be different because we are here. How can you make a difference in this world?
First is to show up. We should be there for others. Taking the time from our busy schedules to let others know they are important. This is very hard when we over schedule our calendars. We leave no margin for God-interruptions. We should be there when a friend needs to talk and we show up for their important days.
Second be real. We need to be who created us to be not what people want from us. God creates each of us with different passions, gifts, and unique abilities. This is not by accident. Do not let fear keep you from being the person God created you to be.
Next, love others. We should be the people known for our love. God calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves. We are to give generously to each other. We are not to be deceptive with one another. We are called to forgive our neighbors and not hold a grudge.
Finally, don’t quit. When you feel like quitting – don’t give up. You will miss on what God has to offer. It is important to keep fighting for what is good and right. Fight for marriage, fight for your kids, fight for your health – don’t quit! Know that you are not alone, and know that we are in the hands of God – He will provide us with strength when we need it. God tells us to be strong and not give up, for your work will be rewarded.
