The Donkey

“You will find a young donkey tied there…Untie it and bring it here.” Mark 11:2 HCSB

The works of author Max Lucado have achieved remarkable success, with over 92 million copies.  My library includes many of his books. Reverend Billy Graham has preached to more than two hundred million people during a span of more than five decades. Some Christians spend their whole lives making an impact for Jesus in the lives of an immeasurable number of people. Meanwhile, you work your modest job with its modest paycheck…or teach your Sunday School class in your little rural church…or write your blog with its forty-one subscribers. And you wonder, How can I possibly be making a difference?

When you need the joy that comes from carrying out God’s will, remember the donkey that carried Jesus into Jerusalem just before the crucifixion.  This little, unassuming animal might well have spent 99 percent of its life munching on grass and pulling a cart, but then one day it carried the Messiah to His final earthly destination so He could save the world. What a difference one small act of service can make!

PRAYER: Lord, let me serve the world by quietly serving You in the middle of my everyday life.
